CCCI forms Price Monitoring Cell

The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Thursday formed a 'Price Monitoring Cell (PMC)' in the port city after a meeting on 'Prices of Essential Commodities.'
According to a press release of the CCCI, the PMC includes representatives from the CCCI, local administration, Dokan Malik Samity, local Bazar Committee, Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) and journalists.
Speaking at the meeting, CCCI President Saifuzzaman Chowdhury stressed the need for concerted efforts to keep markets stable and prices at a tolerable level.
Referring to an end to misunderstanding between the government and the business community in a changed situ ation, he called upon the business community to help the government in dealing with businesses without blaming each other.
CCCI vice president Mahbub Alam, C&F Agents Association president AKM Akter Hossain, Bangladesh Dokan Malik Samity central vice chairman S M Mahbubul Islam Tuku, CAB (Chittagong) president S M Nazer Hossain, and Dokan Malik Samity president Salamat Ali, among importers, retailers and wholesalers, took part in the meeting.
