CHATTOGRAM, Aug 08: The newly elected directors of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) unanimously elected Omar Hajjaj as president, Tarafdar Md Ruhul Amin as senior vice-president and Raisa Mahbub as vice-president of the chamber for the term 2023-25.
The newly elected 24 directors elected the three-member presidium of CCCI, the apex trade body of the port city, at a meeting held at the World Trade Centre on Tuesday.
Newly elected Director AKM Akter Hossain under the supervision of the Election Commission of CCCI Election 2023 presided over the meeting.
The 24 directors of the CCCI were elected unopposed on August 06. The new committee will take over on September 30.
Newly elected President Omar Hajjaj will replace outgoing president Mahabubul Alam. Mr Hajjaj was a senior vice president of CCCI from 2019 to 2021. He is the owner of Reliance International. He is a son of former CCCI president MA Latif.
Newly elected Senior Vice-president Tarafdar Md Ruhul Amin is the Managing Director of Saif Powertec. He was also the senior vice president of CCCI in the last committee. He is the owner of E Engineering Ltd, Saif Plastic and Polymer Industries Ltd, Saif Port Holdings Ltd, Saif Electrical Manufacturing Ltd, Maxon Power Ltd, Saif Global Sports Ltd, Blue Line Communications Ltd etc.
Newly elected Vice-president of CCCI Raisa Mahbub is a daughter of outgoing president Mahbubul Alam. She is the owner of Raisa Enterprise.
The elected directors are Sayed Mohammed Tanvir, AKM Akter Hossain, Ahid Seraj Chowdhury Swapon, Jahirul Islam Chowdhury Alamgir, Anjan Shekhor Das, Md Rakibur Rahman Tutul, Mahfujul Haque Shah, Benjir Chowdhury Nishan, Md Alamgir Parvej, Najmul Karim Chowdhury Sharon, Iftekhar Hossain, Gouhar Seraj Jamil, Abu Sufian Chowdhury, Mahbubul Haque, Akter Parvej, Md Rejaul Karim Azad, Mohammed Adnanul Islam, Md Monir Uddin, Akhtar Uddin Mahmud, Mohammed Sajjad Un Newaj and Omar Muktadir.
