China ready to work with BD on BCIM-EC

China stands ready to work with Bangladesh to 'speed up' the construction of the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor (BCIM EC) that would help connect two major markets of East Asia and South Asia, reports UNB.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said this on Tuesday quoting its Foreign Minister Wang Yi as saying during his meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
It quoting Mr Wang Yi said Bangladesh and China should take the opportunity of the 40th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relationship to maintain high-level mutual visits, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and inject new powerful impetus into bilateral relations.
"China stands ready to help Bangladesh develop modern agriculture, strengthen the capacity of industrial production, improve infrastructure and overcome the bottleneck of energy supply so as to promote Bangladesh for faster development," the Chinese Foreign Minister was quoted as saying.
Chinese dream and Bangladeshi dream are connected and represent the aspiration of pursuing better life of the two peoples, the righteous demand of expanding common interests of developing countries and the trend of continuous development and rejuvenation in Asia, Chinese Foreign Ministry said quoting Wang Yi.
Wang Yi also said that since establishment of diplomatic relationship, China and Bangladesh had always shown mutual  understanding, mutual respect and mutual support.
