College girl raped in city

A college girl was raped allegedly by her two friends in the capital Friday, according to police.  

The girl came to the capital two months ago from Jamalpur to take coaching for getting admission into a university.

She has been residing in a women's hostel in the capital. She was raped by Shawon and Niloy who are also hailing from the same district, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station Masiur Rahman told the FE Saturday. The trio were known to each other earlier.   

He said Shawon (23) is involved with a coaching centre at Tejgaon while Niloy (20) is a student of Jagannath University.

On Friday afternoon, she was called by them over mobile phone to come to Mouchak market for giving her some admission-related coaching notes.

When she went there, they proposed to her for taking some foods from a nearby restaurant. The rapists hid their real intention. They rode a rickshaw and went to a residential hotel where she was raped by them. The rapists later fled the area. Later, the girl first informed her family members about the matter.

She went to the Ramna Police Station on Saturday morning for lodging a complaint against them.  She could not, however, let the police know where the hotel was located.

"A case has been filed. We are trying to nab the culprits and locate the hotel," the OC said.
