Committee formed to evaluate bids for Dhaka elevated expressway

The communication ministry has formed a seven-member committee to scrutinize and evaluate the proposals already submitted by both local and foreign firms to construct Dhaka elevated expressway under the Public-Private Partnership initiative.
The committee, styled 'Pre-qualification and Tender Evaluation Committee,' is headed by Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, BRAC University, said an office order of the ministry, issued last week.
Other members of the committee are Dr. Rahmatullah, advisor, Planning Commission, Professor Dr. Shamsul Islam, Professor Dr. Ziaul Mamun and two representatives one each from ministry of finance and ministry of communication.
At least nine proposals have been submitted from local and foreign firms to construct the expressway, sources said.
