Assailants shot dead early Saturday an official of an ice-cream factory in a drive-by attack in Dhaka's Kalabagan circular-road area early Saturday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Obaidul Haque, 35, manager of Kwality Ice Cream Company. Obaidul was returning to his circular-road residence by a rickshaw after Friday midnight when he came under the attack.
"Three miscreants riding a motorcycle intercepted him on circular road at about 00:40 am and fired into his head. They snatched away valuables from his possession," sub-inspector of Kalabagan police station Bijoy Chandra Devnath told the FE.
The attackers soon fled the scene, leaving Obaidul in a pool of blood. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at around 2:00am Saturday.
A case was filed against three anonymous persons with Kalabagan police station in connection with the shooting and murder.
