Court orders attachment of police officer Kamrul, his wife’s assets

CHATTOGRAM, July 09: The court ordered the attachment of the property, documents, flats, and company shares belonging to Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Mohammad Kamrul Hasan and his wife, Saima Begum.

The order was given by the court of Chattogram Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Dr. Begum Zebunnesha,Monday.

Previously, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed an application before the court to attach their assets.

The Public Prosecutor (PP) of ACC, Advocate Kazi Sanwar Ahmed Lovelu, confirmed the matter.

He further explained that the attached property cannot be transferred, and money can be deposited into the seized bank accounts but cannot be withdrawn.

In this regard, instructions have been issued to the concerned sub-registrar, AC Land, BSEC, and the managing directors of the relevant banks.

In the preliminary investigation by the ACC, evidence was found showing that Mohammad Kamrul Hasan had acquired assets worth Tk 9,73,22,044 and his wife, Saima Begum, Tk 1,62,85,188.
