Court rejects Fakhrul bail, remand pleas

A Dhaka court here asked the police Wednesday to interrogate BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, now in custody, at jail gate within 10 working days, report agencies.
The court sent him to jail rejecting a remand prayer by police and bail petition by his counsels.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M Tareq Mainul Islam Bhuiyan passed the order when police produced the detained accused before it seeking a 10-day remand for interrogating him in connection with two criminal cases.
Mirza Fakhrul was shown arrested in two cases filed with Paltan Police Station accusing him of attempting to murder and make arson attacks on vehicles.
Besides, Mirza Fakhrul was denied bail by the court when his counsel Sanaullah Miah submitted the plea on medical ground, attaching a certificate of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) regarding his illness.
