Covid-19 wanes No death, 24 new cases

The pandemic coronavirus is on the wane in Bangladesh as health authorities registered 24 new cases and found no death from the disease in latest 24 hours.
The figures were 26 and zero respectively on Saturday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest daily counts disclosed Sunday, the total fatalities from the Covid-19 came to 29,127 in the country since the virus was detected here in March 2020.
Some 5,888 samples were tested during the last 24 hours until 8:0am Sunday while 5,887 samples were collected during the period.
The test-positivity rate inched down to 0.41 per cent on the day from the previous day's 0.55 per cent.
According to the DGHS, a total of 329 people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time.
"The rate of recovery stood at 96.97 per cent on the day," the DGHS reports.
However, the rate of fatalities from the virus remained static at1.49 per cent on the day.
According to official data, the total Covid-19 cases have exceeded 1.95 million in Bangladesh and over 1.89 million of them have recovered from the deadly disease.
Meanwhile, nearly 13.96 million samples have been tested in the country so far.
