CU, JU, RU, NU get new VCs

The government Tuesday appointed new vice-chancellors (VCs) to Chittagong University (CU), Jahangirnagar University (JU), Rajshahi University (RU), National University (NU) and Jagannath University, reports BSS.

In CU, its former pro-vice-chancellor and Professor of Islamic History and Culture Department Dr Abu Yousuf Alam has been appointed the VC. Prof Dr M Alauddin of Biochemistry and Microbiology Department has been made the Pro-VC of the university for a four-year term.

In JU, Prof Dr Sharif Enamul Kabir has been made the VC, and Prof Dr Farhad Hossain the Pro-VC.

In RU, Prof Abdus Sobhan of Applied Physics and Electronics Department has been appointed the VC. Prof Dr Nurullah of Psychology Department has been made the Pro-VC, and Prof Abdur Rahman, who retired from Economics Department, made the Treasurer.

Besides, Prof Dr Kazi Shahidullah of History Department of Dhaka University (DU) has been appointed the VC of NU.

Prof Dr Mesbah Uddin Ahmed of Physics Department of DU has been made the VC of Jagannath University for the next four years.
