Cyclonic storm 'Jal' remains stationary

The severe cyclonic storm 'Jal' over the southeast Bay and adjoining the southwest Bay remained practically stationary over the same area Saturday, reports UNB.
It was centred at 12:00 noon about 1485 km south-West of Chittagong port, 1410 km south-west of Cox's Bazar port and 1405 km of south-southwest of Mongla port.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a west-northwesterly direction, said a Met office special bulletin.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 64 km of the severe cyclonic storm centre is about 89 kph rising to 115 kph in gust or squalls. Sea will remain high.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to keep hoisted distant warning signal number two.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
