D-8 can emerge as powerful economic bloc: FM

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Monday said the D-8 (Developing-8) has immense potentials to emerge as a powerful economic bloc as its member states have vast mineral and human resources. He laid emphasis on enhancing communication among the member states through introducing visa exemption for diplomatic and government passport holders, ensuring smoother air connectivity and establishing residential diplomatic missions in their capitals. The Foreign Minister said this when visiting D-8 Secretary General Dr Seyed Ali Mohammad Mousavi met him at his office, according to a news agency.
