Daiki Axis to invest $10m for manufacturing sewage treatment products

Daiki Axis, Japan's leading water and wastewater solution provider, is set to invest US$10 million in Bangladesh to manufacture Johkasou sewage treatment products.
The company has already joined hand with its local partner Charm Ltd, which is its sale agent.
Daiki Axis has started constructing a factory on nine bighas of land in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh.
"We have a plan to start full-fledged production by the end of this year," Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Major (retd) Shafiqul Islam to The Financial Express.
He said Daiki Axis Bangladesh would mainly manufacture Sewage Treatment Products (STP) based on the most comprehensive water treatment Japanese technology, Johkasou.
Johkasou in Japanese language means purification tank. It is a wastewater treatment system that was developed in Japan in the 1970s.
The term Johkasou is short form of 'joint wastewater treatment system' and it refers to a type of decentralised wastewater treatment system that is designed to treat and recycle household and industrial wastewater.
Shafiqul Islam, managing director of Charm Ltd, which holds 20 per cent share in the company, as managing partner, said local production of Jokasou products will save huge foreign currencies.
He also said municipal corporations, city corporations, large and small private industries; private residential communities will use these products.
Before Daiki Axis Bangladesh Ltd becomes a full-pledged company, Charm Ltd has been working as its sole sale agent in Bangladesh since 2017.
Over eight million Johkasou are running successfully in Japan and several millions are installed in various other countries.
Core Concept of Johkasou is to treat domestic waste water locally and reuse it locally, which is very appropriate for India in current circumstances.
