Dengue: Six die, 1297 hospitalised

Six more people have died of dengue while 1,297 new patients have been hospitalised with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours till Monday morning, reports bdnews24.com.
With the new counts, the number of hospitalised dengue patients has reached 65,768 this year. A total of 320 people died among them.
The Directorate General of Health Services, or DGHS, said as many as 430 were hospitalised in Dhaka among the new dengue patients until Monday morning.
In addition, 315 were hospitalised in the Dhaka Division, 33 in the Mymensingh Division, 185 in the Chattogram
Division, 171 in the Khulna Division, 34 in the Rajshahi Division, 36 in the Rangpur Division, 89 in the Barishal Division, and four in the Sylhet Division.
As many as 4,143 patients are currently undergoing treatment for dengue in hospitals across the country. They include 1,884 in the capital and 2,259 outside Dhaka.
The DGHS has been keeping records of dengue hospitalisations and deaths since 2000.
