Earlier, the Economic Relations Department (ERD) of Bangladesh and the authority concerned of the Chinese government signed an agreement for the fund worth 210 million Yuan that will be required to establish BCFEC at the northwestern side of the Tejgaon old airport.
An 11-member delegation of Beijing Institute of Architectural Design had visited Bangladesh to finalise the design after conducting survey of the site.
During the visit, the delegation called on officials of the ministries and departments concerned of the government for drafting the design of the BFCE.
Sources said if established this will be the first world-class permanent exhibition centre in the country.
They said it will help Bangladesh increase exports as the prospective buyers can see all products of the country by visiting the exhibition centre round the year.
