Detained Alal taken to DMCH

Detained Jubo Dal president Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Sunday night after he fell ill. Police said Alal, who is now on a three-day remand in a case filed in connection with Wednesday’s violence at Chawkbazar in the city, complained of chest pain in the evening. Later, the Jubo Dal chief was taken to the DMCH around 8:30pm for treatment. Earlier in the day, the court of Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh placed Alal on a three-day police remand when he was produced before the court. Police arrested the president of BNP’s youth wing from his Lalmatia residence Saturday night, according to a news agency.
