Dollar, call rate steady

The US dollar was steady against the Bangladesh taka (BDT) Tuesday in the inter-bank foreign exchange market, fund managers said.
The exchange rate of the dollar against the BDT varied between Tk 68.74 and Tk 68.85 against the previous day's range of between Tk 68.75 and Tk 68.82 in the inter-bank foreign exchange market.
The major transactions were made at the rates ranging between Tk 68.75 and Tk 68.80 in the inter-bank market, they said.
The dollar was stable in public deals. The cash dollar was transacted at rates varying between Tk 67.05 and Tk 69.90 maintaining previous day's range.
The inter-bank call money rate was unchanged on the day despite withdrawal of large amount of cash through reverse repurchase agreement (repo) and Bangladesh Bank (BB) Bills, fund managers said.
The rate moved between 6.50 per cent and 10.25 per cent maintaining the previous day's range.
The rates, however, fluctuated between 6.60 per cent and 7.00 per cent in most deals against the previous day's range of between 6.55 per cent and 6.60 per cent, they said.
