FE Report
The US dollar fell against the Bangladesh taka (BDT) Sunday in the interbank foreign exchange market, as the demand for the greenback was stable, fund managers said.
The market was moderately active due to weekend in the international market.
The exchange rate of the dollar against the BDT ranged between Tk 68.92 and Tk 69.00 against the previous day's range of between Tk 68.98 and Tk 69.04 in the inter-bank foreign exchange market.
The dollar was, however, stable in public deals. The cash dollar in public deals was transacted at rates varying between Tk 67.10 and Tk 69.90 against maintaining previous day's range.
The inter-bank call money rate rose on the day due to withdrawal of cash through reverse repurchase agreement (repo), treasury bills and T & T bonds, fund managers said.
The rate moved between 7.50 per cent and 10.75 per cent against the previous day's range of between 7.25 per cent and 10.00 per cent.
