Dhaka University on Wednesday published a draft voter list for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU) and hall union elections at Abdul Matin Chowdhury Digital Classroom adjacent to the Vice Chancellor's Office around noon.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman published the draft voter list at 12:00 pm.
At that time, Pro-VC (Academic) Professor Dr Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr Muhammad Samad and the hall provosts were also present there.
VC Akhtaruzzaman said, 'Based on information provided by the hall provosts and in association with an ICT Cell, a draft voter list of hall-wise 38,000 regular students has been prepared initially.
According to the DUCSU constitution, the final voter list for the elections to the DUCSU and hall unions will be made based on the draft voter list.
The VC said the new voter list will be viewed on the website ducsu.du.ac.bd and students will get chance to correct their information and lodge any complains about the draft list by November 30.
Besides, any regular student who could not be registered as voter will be able to enroll as voter by contacting respective Hall Provost's Office.
Earlier on September 15, at a briefing after the meeting with student organisations, VC Akhtaruzzaman said the DUCSU election might be held by March 2019 and expressed the hope that draft voter list for this would be prepared by October.
DUCSU was formed in 1924 after the establishment of Dhaka University in 1921 and the latest DUCSU election was held in 1990.
