DSE indices fall due to selling pressure

Indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) declined Sunday mainly due to selling pressure.
On Sunday, the first trading session of the week, All Shares Price Index (DSI), DSE-20 Index (DS20) and DSE General Index (DGEN) declined by 10.790 points, 15.719 points and 8.772 points to close at 1795.353, 1875.483 and 2189.958 respectively.
The total turnover declined to Tk 1.474 billion from Tk 1.618 billion Thursday, the last trading session of the previous week. The total market capitalisation also fell to Tk 482.847 billion from Tk 485.267 billion Thursday last.
Out of 212 traded issues, prices of 104 gained, 91 declined and 17 remained unchanged on the day.
Summit Power was the turnover leader with traded issues worth Tk 79.446 million followed by Grameen One with Tk 73.497 million, AIMS with Tk 70.459 million, Heidelberg Cement with Tk 69.886 million, Power Grid with Tk 67.880 million, AB Bank with Tk 62.022 million, Square Pharma with Tk 58.445 million, Southeast Bank with Tk 49.313 million, Shahjalal Bank with Tk 47.882 million and BRAC Bank with Tk 47.309 million on the day.
Share prices rose for Summit Power by 1.33 per cent to Tk 945.50, Grameen One by 6.31 per cent to Tk 52.20, AIMS by 4.91 per cent to Tk 5.12, Heidelberg Cement by 4.52 per cent to Tk 1298.00, AB Bank by 5.36 per cent to Tk 1580.25 and Meghna Cement by 17.49 per cent to Tk 361.49.
Power Grid declined by 0.67 per cent to Tk 592.50, Square Pharma dropped by 0.32 per cent to Tk 3777.25, Southeast Bank fell by 2.20 per cent to Tk 476.50, Shahjalal Bank lost by 2.52 per cent to Tk 241.25 and BRAC Bank shed by 1.38 per cent to Tk 732.25.
