DSE indices gain marginally

Indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained Thursday marginally as both turnover and market capitalisation rose.
DSE General Index (DGEN), All Shares Price Index (DSI) and DSE-20 Index (DS20) gained by 10.730 points, 7.275 points and 0.772 points to close at 2198.731, 1806.143 and 1891.203 respectively in the last trading session of the week.
The total turnover increased to Tk 1.618 billion (161.8 crore) on the day from Tk 1.607 billion of the previous day. The total market capitalisation also increased to Tk 485.267 billion from Tk 483.635 billion of the previous day.
Out of 215 issues traded, prices of 130 gained, 71 declined and 14 remained unchanged on the day.
Power Grid retained its position as the turnover leader with traded issues worth Tk 112.948 million, followed by Summit Power with Tk 71.487 million, BRAC Bank with Tk 53.769 million, Exim Bank with Tk 52.676 million, Lafarge Surma Cement with Tk 47.324 million, Heidelberg Cement with Tk 45.866 million, Shahjalal Bank with Tk 43.751 million, Southeast Bank with Tk 41.242 million, Pubali Bank with Tk 38.247 million and Square Pharma with Tk 36.728 million.
Prices of Power Grid shares declined by 1.24 per cent to Tk 596.50 each, BRAC Bank by 1.59 per cent to Tk 742.50, Exim Bank by 1.83 per cent to Tk 414.75, Shahjalal Bank by 2.65 per cent to Tk 247.50, Southeast Bank by 1.71 per cent to Tk 487.25, Pubali Bank by 1.46 per cent to Tk 771.50 and Pragati Life Insurance by 12.88 per cent to Tk 677.75.
On the other hand, Summit Power gained by 2.05 per cent to Tk 933.00, Lafarge Surma Cement by 7.28 per cent to Tk 412.50, Heidelberg Cement by 3.73 per cent to Tk 1241.75, Square Pharma by 0.30 per cent to Tk 3789.75, Ambee Pharma by 13.30 per cent to Tk 54.50, Bangladesh General Insurance Company (BGIC) by 11.84 per cent to Tk 233.75, Eastern Insurance by 15.75 per cent to Tk 231.50, Eastland Insurance by 11.92 per cent to Tk 225.25, Green Delta Insurance by 11.57 per cent to Tk 499.00, Meghna Cement by 11.93 per cent to Tk 307.25, Mercantile Insurance by 11.22 per cent to Tk 104.00, Reliance Insurance by 12.01 per cent to Tk 272.75, Rupali Insurance by 14.30 per cent to Tk 237.75, Nitol Insurance by 12.96 per cent to Tk 82.75, Saiham Textile by 19.64 per cent to Tk 117.25 and Padma Cement by 12.50 per cent to Tk 2.70.
