DSE stocks bounce back FE Report

Stocks bounced back on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Wednesday though the turnover declined.

Power sector issues- DESCO, Power Grid and Summit Power- and most of the banking sector issues gained on the day.

The total turnover declined to Tk 1.571 billion (157.1 crore) from Tk 1.797 billion of the previous day. The total market capitalisation increased to Tk 448.539 billion from Tk 446.614 billion of the previous day.

The DSE-20 Index, DSE General Index (DGEN) and All Shares Price Index (DSI) jumped by 47.217 points, 17.401 points and 8.691 points to close at 1825.724, 2024.230 and 1664.098 respectively.

Out of 184 issues traded, prices of 78 gained, 87 declined and 19 remained unchanged on the day.

BRAC Bank was the turnover leader with shares worth Tk 170.262 million traded. Square Pharma, Power Grid, Prime Bank, Southeast Bank, Arab Bangladesh Bank, National Bank Limited , Summit Power, Premier Bank and Lafarge Surma Cement followed the rally with Tk 138.417 million, Tk 137.513 million, Tk 130.376 million, Tk 129.097 million, Tk 77.890 million, Tk 74.752 million, Tk 56.095 million, Tk 55.551 million and Tk 46.299 million respectively.

Prices of Arab Bangladesh Bank shares rose by 9.69 per cent to Tk 1225.00 each, NBL shares rose by 5.43 per cent to Tk 762.00 each, Square Pharma by 3.44 per cent to Tk 3,767.00, Power Grid by 0.78 per cent to Tk 611.00, Prime Bank by 5.25 per cent to Tk 816.75, Southeast Bank by 2.69 per cent to Tk 467.00 and Summit Power by 2.91 per cent to Tk 873.25.

Prices of BRAC Bank shares declined by 2.01 per cent to Tk 718.50 each, Premier Bank by 1.44 per cent to Tk 306.00 and Lafarge Surma Cement by 3.19 per cent to Tk 409.00.
