DSE stocks halt fall after three days

Stock prices bounced back on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) after three days of fall due to a buying spree Wednesday.
But transactions on the DSE were affected to a large extent following the torrential rains occurring during the last four days.
The total turnover of DSE increased to Tk 1.252 billion (125.2 crore) from Tk 1.065 billion of the previous day. The total market capitalisation increased to Tk 438.846 billion from Tk 433.707 billion of the previous day.
All Shares Price Index (DSI), DSE-20 (DS20) and DSE General Index (DGEN) of the bourse increased by 23.210 points, 21.444 points and 29.636 points close to at 1619.974, 1786.916 and 1990.846 respectively on the day.
Out of 191 issues traded, prices of 106 gained, 58 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
Power Grid maintained its position as the turnover leader with trading of its shares worth Tk 135.687 million followed by BRAC Bank with its turnover at Tk 122.998 million, Southeast Bank at Tk 87.887 million, AB Bank at Tk 73.828 million, Square Pharma at Tk 72.587 million, Prime Bank at Tk 71.531 million, Desco at Tk 50.386 million, Summit Power at Tk 49.028 million, UCBL at Tk 47.829 million and Pubali Bank at Tk 33.267 million.
