A Dhaka University (DU) delegation will meet Chief Adviser (CA) Fakhruddin Ahmed tomorrow (Sunday) to discuss the overall situation on its campus following the last month's student unrest, reports UNB.
DU Vice-Chancellor SMA Faiz will lead the delegation. Teacher representatives to the syndicate, leaders of Dhaka University Teachers' Association (DUTA), deans of faculties will be on the delegation.
The arrest of DU teachers and students and reopening of the university are likely to figure prominently during the meeting with the CA.
Earlier Thursday, a DU delegation, headed by the VC, exchanged views with Chief of General Staff Major General Sina Ibn Jamali at a city restaurant. The delegation suggested that release of the arrested DU teachers and students would be a positive step towards restoring normalcy on the campus.
DU faculties Anwar Hossain and Harun-or-Rashid and several students were arrested and sent to jail following the August 20-22 unrest that led to the closure of the university.
