DU, RU, JU reopen tomorrow

All academic activities of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Jagannath University will resume tomorrow (Sunday) after a 66-day long unscheduled closure including the vacation of Eid and Durga Puja. Classes of Jahangirnagar University however resume today (Saturday).
The executive council of DU Teachers' Association (DUTA) Friday in a meeting decided to take classes from the day.
With DUTA acting president Tajmery SA Islam in the chair, acting general secretary Mamun Ahmed, former president AAMS Arefin Siddique, former general secretary Akhteruzzaman and executive member Abu Ahmed were present in the meeting among others.
After the meeting, Tajmery SA Islam told reporters that they have taken decision to take classes duly from Sunday considering the future of the students as they have already fallen behind in their studies.
"We make an earnest appeal to the government to release the jailed DU teachers immediately in the grater interest of maintain congenial academic atmosphere at the university after resuming classes", she said.
