Editors' Council demands exemplary punishment to journo Nadim's killers

Expressing its deep concern over the state of insecurity of journalists, the Editors' Council has demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in the recent killing of a newsman in Jamalpur.
In a statement on Sunday, the Council said Golam Rabbani Nadim, Jamalpur district correspondent of Banglanews24, was brutally killed by a group of influential people at Bakshiganj in Jamalpur on June 14 last following publishing a report.
It said that many journalists were killed in the past but the killers have not been brought to justice.
Mentioning that killing of journalists while discharging their professional duties is against the freedom expression as well as violation of human rights.
The Editors' Council also expressed its deep sympathy to the bereaved family members of Nadim.
