Ekushey Book Fair comes alive on first Falgun

The spring has come as a boon for publishers participating in the Amar Ekuhsey Book Fair as there was festivity on Friday, the first day of the spring season.
Thousands of people from all walks of life thronged the Bangla Academy premises, well ahead the opening time.
Although the authorities had announced the first session -- 11:00am to 2:00pm -- as the children's hours, people of all age groups started gathering at the venue immediately after it was opened at 11:00 am, defying the ongoing political turmoil.
While visiting the exposition, this correspondent found the visitors including children on the queues in front of the entrance, wearing special yellow-coloured (bashanta) dress.
