Entrepreneurs advised to seize opportunities in Sylhet

SYLHET, May 21 (BSS): Entrepreneurs have been advised to dig out opportunities that the Sylhet region can offer in return for substantial and right investments.
The suggestion came at a seminar on the opportunities and benefit of investment in Sylhet, a region which is lagging behind in industrialisation despite having investment-friendly infrastructure facilities and natural resources.
Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) in association with Friedrich Naumann Foundation of Germany organised the seminar in the town, which is known for tea, cement, gas and the large number of expatriate people mostly living in Europe and America.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith was the chief guest at the seminar. Pay Commission Chairman and former Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Mohammad Farasuddin gave the keynote speech when FBCCI President Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed was a special guest.
The finance minister said the government already completed all process to establish special economic zones in Sylhet to promote local and foreign investment in this area.
He said the government would provide all necessary facilities and supports to the entrepreneurs who would investment in this region.
