Ex-CJ Khairul hospitalised after falling ill in jail

Former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque, currently in custody at Dhaka Central Jail, fell ill on Monday and was admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), commonly known as PG Hospital.
Prison authorities said Haque suddenly felt unwell around 11:45 am and was immediately taken to the hospital.
"He fell sick in prison and was later referred to BMU, where he is now under medical supervision," said AKM Masum, Jail Superintendent of Dhaka Central Jail.
Brigadier General Abu Noman Mohammad Mosleh Uddin, Director of BSMMU Hospital, confirmed that Haque was admitted with chest pain and is under observation in the CCU.
On July 24, police arrested the former Chief Justice from Dhanmondi area.
