Police taking Bakhtiar Alam Rony, son of former Awami League MP Pinu Khan, to jail from a Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court on Wednesday after pronouncement of his life term sentence — Focus Bangla

Bakhtiar Alam Rony, son of former Awami League MP Pinu Khan, has been sentenced to life in prison for a double murder in Eskaton in 2015, report agencies.
Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Monjurul Imam announced the verdict on Wednesday.
He was also fined Tk 50,000 by the judge. Rony will have to stay in jail for six more months if he fails to pay the fine.
The court said it sentenced Rony to life imprisonment taking into consideration his psychological and physical conditions at the time of the incident.
"It has been proven during trial that Rony was intoxicated when he fired the shots.
Rony fired indiscriminately on people near Janakantha Bhaban in New Eskaton from his car on April 13, 2015, injuring rickshaw-puller Abdul Hakim and Janakantha's auto-rickshaw driver Yakub.
Hakim died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital two days later while Yakub died from his injuries at the hospital on April 23.
