FBCCI backs today\\\'s rally at Suhrawardy Udyan

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) expressed solidarity on Thursday with the grand rally organised by Sramik-Karmachari-Peshajibi-Muktijoddha Samannay Parishad to be held today at Suhrawardy Udyan in protest against the ongoing violence in the name of hartals and blockade.

The FBCCI extended its support to the rally during a meeting with Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan at the conferecne room of the apex trade body on the day.

President of FBCCI Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed presided over the meeting. First Vice-President of FBCCI Monowara Hakim Ali and Vice-President Md Helal Uddin, among others, were present.

The minister and board  of directors of FBCCI  exchanged views on the present political situation that has been doing harm to the country's economy.

The apex trade body called upon the political parties to avoid such destructive politics. The present political instability marked with violence has created an uncertain and worrisome situation in the country which is not desirable for the intertest of the country's economy, it said.   

Under such circumstances the FBCCI called upon the political parties to withdraw hartals and blockade considering the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination scheduled to start from February 2, 2015.
