President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI) Mahbubul Alam has expressed grief over a fire that ripped through a sugar refinery plant of S Alam Group in Chattogram on Monday.
Such an incident is very shocking and unexpected, he said in a statement on Tuesday.
The demand for sugar, an essential item, remains high during the holy month of Ramadan, he said, expressing his hope that this fire incident would not lead to a sugar supply crisis in the domestic market
