FE Report
The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has decided to hold the election to its board of directors for 2007-09 period in late November.
Sources at the election board of the FBCCI said the polls might be held on November 20.
They said October 1 is likely to be set as the last date for submission of nomination papers.
When asked, they said the election for the posts of president, first vice president and vice president from a total of 38 directors, including 19 elected and 19 nominated, is likely to be held November 22.
Prior to imposition of restriction by the government on holding of election, the FBCCI election board was receiving nomination papers for its scheduled August 16 polls.
On July 17, the government extended tenure of the present executive committee of the apex trade body until December 12 to facilitate holding of its election.
The current tenure of the present executive committee is scheduled to expire September 5.
However, the apex trade body at an extraordinary general meeting June 28 brought amendments to the rules as per the government directive.
