FBI team in city to probe Avijit killing

A four-member FBI team from the US arrived in Dhaka Wednesday night to help investigate the murder of writer-blogger Avijit Roy, report agencies.

The FBI (Bureau of Federal Investigation) team met Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch officials Thursday noon, said DMP's Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam.

"During the meeting, they wanted to know the incident of Avijit killing in detail," he said. "They'll stay here for a few days,"  Islam added.

Mr Roy was killed and his wife Rafida Afrin Banya injured seriously as unidentified criminals stabbed them near the TSC on the Dhaka University campus on February 26.
