Md. Mejanur Rahman, Jahangirnagar University correspondent of The Financial Express, was elected as treasurer of Jahangirnagar University Press Club (JUPC) for the 2026-27 session on Monday.
Chief Election Commissioner Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Halim of the Department of Botany announced the election results at around 1:30 PM at the Teacher-Student Centre of the university. Voting took place from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at the press club office.
SM Tawhid of The Daily Amar Desh and Osman Sarder of The Daily Jaijaidin were elected as president and general secretary respectively. Other elected office bearers are: Vice President Shahriar Alam Emon of The Daily Khola Kagoj; Joint Secretary Ahsan Habib of Star News; Office Secretary Md Robiul Islam of Bangladesh Guardian; and Library and Publication Secretary A H Mrtuuza of The Daily Amader Somoy.
Md. Rashedul Islam of The Daily Jugantor and Md. Nishan Khan of Dainik Arthoniteer Kagoj were elected as executive members.
