Five bankers receive death threats

BAGERHAT, Mar 18 (UNB): Branch managers of five banks here received death threats from a suspected extremist group Sunday and Monday.
Branch managers of Pubali Bank Limited, Rupali Bank Limited, Uttara Bank Limited, Janata Bank Limited and Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited in the town received the threats.
Police said a man introducing himself as Tapan Malita, a top leader of an outlawed party, phoned the managers and demanded Tk 0.2 million from each of them.
