Five more banks see higher profits

Five more commercial banks posted higher amount of operating profit in the just-ended calendar year 2023.

According to available provisional figures, operating profit of the state-owned Agrani Bank (PLC) rose to Tk17.70 billion in 2023 from Tk 12.02 billion in 2022.

Dhaka Bank PLC made operating profit amounting to Tk 8.85 billion in 2023 while the amount was Tk 8.40 billion in 2022.

Operating profit of Prime Bank PLC increased to Tk 10.03 billion in 2023 from Tk 9.87 billion in 2022 while Jamuna Bank PLC earned Tk 10.02 billion worth of operating profit in 2023 from Tk 8.30 billion in the previous year.

On the other hand, Midland Bank Limited was able to make Tk 1.71 billion worth of operating profit in 2023 against Tk 1.60 billion in 2022.
