Fresh 48-hr hartal from today

The BNP-led 20-party Alliance once again called a 48-hour countrywide hartal (strike) from this (Monday) morning, alongside ongoing non-stop blockade, demanding immediate and safe return of the alliance leaders who have remained missing for long.

BNP, in a statement issued on Sunday by its joint secretary general Barkat Ullah Bulu, said the alliance leaders and activists will observe the shutdown from 6:00 am today (Monday) to press home their three-point demands.

The statement also stated that Dhaka and Chittagong metropolitan cities will remain out of the purview of hartal.
