Garment worker stabbed to death

A garment worker was stabbed to death by miscreants Thursday night at Uttar Sanarpar of Demra in the capital.

The Demra thana police said the victim, Md Khatib Mia (20), was intercepted by a gang of miscreants while he was returning home after his duty.

The miscreants tried to snatch money from him but he denied and started a hue and cry.

At one stage the miscreants stabbed him on his chest and fled the scene, leaving him dead on the spot.

Informed by the locals the Demra thana police rushed to the spot and sent the body to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Hailing from Panchagarh the victim was the son of late Ayub Nabi. He lived at a rented house at Uttar Sanarpar.

Khodeja Begum, mother of the deceased, filed a case in this connection but none was arrested until filing of the report Friday evening, according to Demra thana police.
