Around 50 garment workers demonstrated in front of their factory on Saturday demanding reinstatement of discharged fellow workers in the city's Gulshan area, police said.
Police said workers of Alpine Ltd took to the street in the afternoon in Gulshan-2 circle after the garment owners laid off some workers.
The laid-off workers were paid their wages and
other dues before being discharged, a police officer said quoting the factory manager as saying.
