Gas cylinder leak explosion injures 9 in Mohammadpur

Nine people, including a woman, sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in Mohammadpur area of Dhaka on Monday afternoon,reports BSS.

The incident occurred around 2:00 pm today on Humayun Road when a gas cylinder kept in front of a garage reportedly exploded due to leakage, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mejbaha Uddin of Mohammadpur Police Station.

The injured were identified as Md. Tarek Rahman, 23, Md. Mona, 40, Miraj, 36, Rehana Badal, 23, Md. Jony, 35, Md. Akash, 25, Md. Azad, 55, and Irfan, 18.

Police could not immediately confirm whether the victims were passersby or associated with the garage.
