Govt decides to import 150,000 tonnes of urea

The Advisers' Committee on Public Purchase at a meeting Monday approved an Industries Ministry proposal to import 150,000 tonnes of urea fertiliser, reports UNB.
Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), under the Industries Ministry, will import the urea to meet the demand in the coming crop season.
The price of urea will vary from $307 to $323 per tonne, and the total cost for 150,000 tonnes will be around Tk 3.30 billion.
Finance Adviser Dr Mirza Azizul Islam chaired the meeting.
