Govt selects 48 CIPs for 2017

The government has selected 48 businesspersons under nine categories as commercially important persons (CIPs) for the year 2017 in recognition of their contributions to the national economy by establishing factories and creating employments.

The government issued a gazette notification to this end on September 26.

The names of the CIPs, as appeared in the gazette, are: National Council for Industrial Development (NCID) category (ex-officio): Abdul Matlub Ahmad, president, The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Md. Siddiqur Rahman, president, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Rupali Haque Chowdhury, president, Foreign Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Selima Ahmad, president, Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Salahuddin Kasem Khan, president, Bangladesh Employers Federation, and Mirza Nurul Ghoni Shovon, president, National Association of Small and Cottage Industries, Bangladesh.
