Govt to take measures against terrorism as in Syria, France: Hanif

SATKHIRA, Feb 07 (BSS): Joint general secretary of the ruling Awami League (AL) Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said here today that the government would take action to contain terrorism following the steps taken by countries like France and Syria.
"The politics of killing people by hurling petrol bombs being pursued by BNP-Jamaat in the country is sheer terrorist activity, nothing else," he said while speaking as the chief guest at the triennial council of Satkhira District AL, held after 10 years, at Shaheed Abdur Razzak Park in the town.
District AL president Engineer Sheikh Mujibur Rahman presided over the inaugural session of the council, which was also addressed, among others, by party's organising secretary BM Mozammel Huq, MP, agriculture affairs secretary Dr Abdur Razzak, MP, Prof Dr AFM Ruhal Haque, MP, Begum Munnujan Sufian, MP, SM Kamal Hossain, MP, Meer Mostaque Ahmed Robi, MP, SM Jaglul Haider, MP, Advocate Mustafa Lutfullah, MP and district AL general secretary Nazrul Islam.
In an oblique reference to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, the AL joint general secretary said, "Joining hands with Jamaat she likes to give wrong interpretation of Islam.
