The government is waiting for a reply from the World Bank (WB) over Padma bridge corruption charges, the finance minister has said, reports bdnews24.com. "The government will make a decision after getting the reply," A M A Muhith told the press after a meeting at his office with Ellen Goldstein, the global lender's resident representative in Bangladesh, Monday afternoon. "I called up the World Bank country director to request a quick release of the funds for two projects on health and nutrition in my electoral area," he said. "The Padma Bridge issue also came up," he said and added that the government was yet to receive any reply from the World Bank. The Economic Relations Division additional secretary was less revealing about the issue.
