Goyal made Indian temporary finance minister

Indian union minister Piyush Goval was given the temporary charge of the finance ministry, a shock development that comes just days before the Interim Budget has to be presented, according to a report by India Today.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will remain a minister without any portfolio.

Arun Jaitley, who underwent a kidney transplant surgery last year, had left for the United States for a medical check-up earlier this month. He has not yet returned.
