State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will be arrested when the court gives the order, reports UNB.

He said this while talking to journalists after a meeting with the Chief Justice at the latter's office.

Responding to a query about media reports that the Prime Minister has given her nod to the arrest of the BNP chief, the junior minister said, "Why is the issue of arrest coming up? We will arrest (Khaleda) when the court will give the order. The question is not pertinent right now."

Asked whether a new law will be enacted to ban hartals, he said, "There is no need for a new law. The Anti Terrorism Act 2009 is there. Everything can be banned by this."
