Gunmen kill trader in city

Unknown gunmen killed a trader at Mirpur in the city in the early hours of Friday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam Azad alias Raju (40), a motor parts-cum-fruit trader. He hailed from Magura district.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Shah Ali police station Abdul Hannan told the FE that they, being informed by some locals, recovered the bullet-hit body of Raju from Block-F of Mirpur-1 at about 5:00am.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The reason behind the killing could not be ascertained immediately. But police suspected that muggers or his enemies might have killed him.
A case was filed with the police. However, no one was arrested in connection with the killing.
