Hartal in six dists today

Local units of 20-party alliance, BNP and its associates bodies have called daylong hartals in Feni, Sunamganj, Mymensingh, Chuadanga and Chapainawabganj districts for today (Tuesday) to press home their various demands, reports UNB.
Besides, the local unit of the BNP-led 20-party alliance extended its shutdown in Bogra district till Tuesday evening from Tuesday morning.
The shutdowns are meant for protesting the 'confinement' of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to her office and the arrest of senior leaders of the 20-party combine, including BNP chairperson's adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu.
In Fen, local unit of the 20-party alliance will enforce a dawn-to-dusk hartal in district protesting the arrest of its two leaders, including district unit Jamaat ameer Shamsuddin. Earlier on Monday, police arrested Shamsuddin from the court premises around 1 pm. In Sunamganj, Nasir Chowdhury, convener of district unit 20-party alliance, announced a dawn-to-dusk hartal in the district at a press briefing held at BNP's district office in protest against the 'confinement' of the party chairperson and demanding the release of all leaders and activists of the alliance.
In Mymensingh, district BNP president AKM Mosharraf Hossain announced the daylong shutdown at a press briefing held at his residence on the same demands.
