Hasan Rouhani greets Hasina

Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh Hossein Aminian met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at PMO Sunday to convey Iranian President Hasan Rouhani\'s congratulation to her on being elected PM again. — Banglar Chokh

Iranian President Hasan Rouhani has congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her re-election as Prime Minister of Bangladesh, reports UNB.

In a message, the Iranian President also expressed his confidence that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina bilateral relation and multilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries will continue to grow in the years to come, said a press release.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged Sunday the Iranian entrepreneurs to invest in joint venture in Bangladesh in infrastructures, and in the exploration of oil, gas and petrochemicals.

The Prime Minister made the request when outgoing Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh Hossein Aminian Tousi called on her at her office (PMO).

The Prime Minister also called upon the Iranian government to import world class ceramics, pharmaceutical, garment, frozen fish and jute goods from Bangladesh.

In this connection, she mentioned that in 2012-13 fiscal, Bangladesh exported goods worth US$ 75.40 million to Iran while its imports from that country totalled US$ 7.10 million.

Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh and Iran have strong ties based on shared history, faith and culture, and hoped that these relations would be further strengthened in the years to come.

The Prime Minister, through the ambassador, conveyed her warm greetings to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Hasan Rouhani. Ambassador Aminian Tousi handed over a letter of the Iranian President to Sheikh Hasina in which President Rouhani greeted her on her assumption of the office of Prime Minister for second consecutive term.

The ambassador thanked Sheikh Hasina for her government's sincere cooperation during his stay in Bangladesh.
